I am trying to formulate my own version of Synthetic Safe Gun Scrubber or Shooters Choice version for cleaning my synthetic guns. The spray cans work great but are expensive and do not last long. Yes, I have some plastic guns.
The Synthetic safe formulas are Hexane or Heptane and Isopropyl. The Iso is easy enough but Hexane is not to be found at the Homer Depot.
After searching the web the closest I can find is Naptha (VMP solvent, Coleman Fuel etc)
Naptha=C6H6, Hexane=C6H14.
So the question is, do you think the Naptha is safe on the Dupont Zytel/ST8018/Nylon 66/glass filled nylon aka polymer guns.?
