Ha! Now that you mention it....I sold off 90% of all my guns and ammo a few years back and now only have guns in 4 calibers. Haven't bought anything new since.

Shhhhh! Don't let this get out but all that's about to change. I'm just 3 or 4 months away from moving from my house in the city I've lived ion for over 41 year to a place in the county where I can shoot off my back porch and I'm makin' plans to get a "few" new guns.
12 ga Remington pump probably and 870
Henry .22 lever action Golden Boy
but my first acquisition will be a 6" S&W 8-shot .22lr revolver

Maybe one or two others I'm thinkin' about but those 3 for sure.

Right now you can holler into my gun safe and hear and echo. This time next year you will be doing good if you can stick a ballpoint pen in there.
 
Been on a gun buying moratorium for years. Quite a few safe queens, never fired, once fired, haven't fired in years. Take one of them too the range, it's like firing a new gun.
 
I feel the same restlessness. The last pistol I got was in a trade with SAFireman. Since then it has been a real dry spell. I have made up for it by taking 10 new shooters to the indoor range and let them shoot $300.00 in ammunition.
The Colorado clan sprung for $200.00 for ammo and $100.00 for the indoor range that just opened up. We spent over two hours and shot every bullet we had.
It was a hoot!!
 
Used to belong to the gun a month club. Seemed the itch was constant.
Then my tastes refined a bit and I was happy with 3-5 a year.
Now I look at my guns and wonder what I was thinking. I never shoot most of them and I should get rid of them and get something I am more interested in but I cannot think of anything that would interest me more.
I have leaned to shotguns and have 5 nice ones. I shoot one 90% of the time cuz it fits me, I shoot it well and I like the idea of it.
Every time the itch comes I open the safe look at the my two varmint rifles that have not shot a varmint in 15 years, my 3 hunting rifles that get wiped down and put back in the safe twice a year and my “extra’ shotguns and revolvers and ask why.
The itch goes away pretty quick.

Just bought a Howa Hunter 6.5 Creedmor with some beautiful walnut and put a Vortex Diamondback 4-12X scope on it. Also got a Sig 365 for concealed carry. I never really liked the little Sig until I shot one, I shoot it nearly as good as my full size guns and it has very light recoil, they really did come up with an excellent design. If your stuck, go buy one I bet you'll like it.

Oh, all the time. :) Fortunately for me, I put a gun on layaway on Tuesday. It helped! :p

I've often said that I believe in ONE GUN A MONTH... minimum, of course. :D

So if I go 30 days without a new acquisition, I start to get the itch. :eek: If I go 45 days... believe me, I know it. :eek: :eek:

Fortunately, I have never gone over 60 days. I wouldn't want to ever experience that horror. :D :D :D
 
I think what I really like about buying/trading guns is doing the deal - haggling, if you will. I have bought guns that I didn’t need or sometimes that I already had one of. I usually think at the time that I really need/want it, but the truth is sometimes I just want to see how far down I can get the seller to go before he locks a price. It’s all a big game that I Iike to play, and I get itchy when it’s too long between sessions. There, that’s my pop psychology, self-analysis for the evening.
 
The older I get the less I want. Health has a lot to do with it.

So for any of you that have an itch to buy another gun, go to the, “Guns For Sale or Trade” forum and buy my SW Model 640 PRO.

This will make us both happy.
 
Haven’t bought anything in a while. Last year I purchased a surplus Beretta 81. I do like Berettas.
But at this stage of my life I believe my collecting days are done with. If something I really want comes along I’ll grab it.
There is really nothing new today that has my interest.:cool:
 
Buying guns seems to be in my blood. However with todays limited choices and high prices what I am doing is upgrading a Glock one bit at a time. Glocks are fun to work on and there is so many upgrades out there. I now have about $400 worth of upgrades in my G43. This without getting in to the trigger upgrades which I don't I will do. The thing doesn't really shoot much better but looks so cool and I am having fun with it.

This is the first time in my life that there are guns in the safe that I have never shot. I don't know how I got that way....I have several Reg Mags and I shoot them, so it is not a worry about collectability or wear. I have shot my old Colt and my Triplelock and they are great examples of modern craftsmanship. They are truly wonders and a joy to shoot.

Perhaps a trip to the classifieds is in order, after all, that is the socially distant and safe thing to do right?

You guys are the best!
 
I like scarcer pre-bans and often I’ll go along time between acquisitions simply because what I like are very difficult to turn up. Next on the list is a Beretta AR-70 folder of which only between 20-30 came in prior to 1989.
 
I was born a "trader." Make sure everyone knows the difference!

I started with pocket knives gradually moved into firearms and trucks.

I've gotten older now, don't shoot anything like I used to, so I don't get tired of it or bored with it.

The itch is still present it's just easier to ignore.
 
Yes I feel stuck .... In the buying mode. While I own a bunch of wheelies, I bought four (4) more in the last week.

I need to get un-stuck and stop buying.
 
I've bought nothing since late last year, haven't been going to gun shows recently as there aren't any and I would be afraid to go if there were. I've almost decided I should sell off about 2/3rds of what guns I have while I can to prepare for the possibility of an Armageddon after the election. I am already planning to sell much of my appreciated stock portfolio for the same reason while capital gains tax rates are still in effect. It will be vastly worse for both guns and stocks under a new administration.
