Do you loan stuff to people?

No loans of stuff. especially to family.
Usually it never comes back
If it does it's yrs after the loan-out and now the item is broke.
"You don't happen to have another one I can use , do Ya?"

Will Rogers said if you lend a man $20 and never see him again, it was a good investment. I made such an investment in my youth when $20 was 2 days pay. I'd offer $20 loans to some people I know if I thought it would work.

Stated earlier, that I feel it is my position in my group of family and friends that I be the banker. Just today I went to town for my weekly coffee and cards with friends. When I arrived at their house, everything was in turmoil. Seems his 90-year-old father had a stroke, fell and broke his leg. They were throwing clothes in their car to get on their 900-mile road trip. Trying to figure out how to get to the bank for traveling cash. I loaned them $300 cash to be paid back when things settled down. Before I got my wallet back into my rear pocket, they were already leaving their driveway.

If they don't return it or replace, they're not a real friend.
Exactly what my dad said when I quoted that to him (I was about 10 years old).

Just like Sonny said to C in A Bronx Tale
"Look at it this way: It costs you 20 dollars to get rid of him... He's out of your life for 20 dollars. You got off cheap. Forget him."
