DOB Help Model 36

I have a Model 36 3" blue # 5606xx with factory stocks numbered to the gun. I know it was made in the 1960's. Can anyone give me an exact year? Thanks.

The SCSW has...
1962.......295000 and then
1969.......786544
Your's number wise is about in the middle so I'd guess 1965/66 but a guess is all it is.
Is it a M36 no dash?

Page 399, SCSW, 3rd. ed., shows it like this:

1962 295000

1969 786544

Does your 36 have diamond stocks and a standard cylinder latch? Diamond stocks were phased out about 1968, I believe and the standard latch replaced the flat latch in 1966. I have a 3in 36 round butt in the 508xxx range that is just about NIB. Mine has a standard latch and diamond stocks numbered to the gun. From information I have found on this forum, I believe mine was probably shipped about 1967. I haven't bothered with a factory letter.

My Model 36 has a standard cylinder latch. The stocks do not have a diamond insert. The stocks are numbered to the gun. I'm inclined to accept John Wyatt's info that my gun was shipped in 1968 or 1969. Thanks, John.
