DOB on J Frame?

Can anyone tell me the DOB on a Model 49, serial number 12J4xx

The dreaded floating J. Best I can come up with is 1983 or later. I am confident one of the J-frame experts will jump in with better info soon.

The “roving J” with six characters were made in 1971-‘72, with some shipping into 1973. With this early-ish SN in the series, a ship date in late ‘71 to early ‘72 is likely, but possibly later.
