Tuesday I was able to take off my defibulator vest my ejection fraction was at 50%. I have lost about 45 lbs since my heart episode in August. I have watched my diet and have been walking about 2.5 miles daily, I plan on going further and losing more weight. I still have to watch the sodium and take the medication, but am feeling better.

Today I had my coloscopy and could not have any sedation because of the cardiac issues but I grimaced through it, they found 2 polyps 1 small and on about 3 centimeters wide both were sent for lab work. My doctors and nurses were great.

Everybody here on the forum have a great Thanksgiving, I have a lot to be thankful for this year.

Glad you're coming along. You've got about four months
'til we can go outside w/o danger of parts freezing and breaking off.
Let that be your goal. Sounds like you're already on track to feel twenty years younger. TACC1

Just keep on keepin' on. You're doin' great. Stay with it.

Thanks for all the kind words, I am not sure it was being brave going without sedation but more like wanting to get it over with. I have always had a slow heart rate but they thought under sedation it might go even slower.

I am very thankful because it could have been a whole lot worse.

My congratulations and continued encouragement to stay with it.

You are to be commended.

Yes - you're doing great and stay with it. I had heard people talk about how easy it is to get out of condition as you get a little older, and how hard it is to take off a few pounds. It's sure true. As Iggy said, "You're doin' great. Stay with it." :)

YIKES!
Did ya at least get dinner & a movie?:D

Glad you are feeling better. Hope the polyps are nothing serious.

Keep up the good work.

I have problems with afib and had a stroke a few years ago. I was very heavy and ate whatever I felt like. I lost a lot of weight over two years ago and have kept it off and feel pretty good. That and exercise have done me more good than all the medications I have been prescribed...It sounds like you are on the right track!

I know that is true, I was the same way 2 mc muffins for breakfast and a big lunch when I went in I was 298 lbs that surprised and scared me. I started out walking about 1/2 mile a day and went up every couple of days now I am at 2.5 miles a day with no wheezing I feel better and bought a new pair of wranglers 3 sizes smaller than in the summer.

My plan is to keep walking and lifting weights and lose a bit more, this morning I weighed in at 257.2. I never realized I was gaining so much and I thought I was smarter than my doctor. My wife said something to me very true I kept thinking I was the 22 year old kid who came back from Korea at 148 lbs.

I watch my sodium and portions and excercise daily now very little soda no chips, but I figure I can retire in 7 years or so and I want to spend some of my pension.
