Things owned by a father or grandfather are special, and it is sad when they get away. My father was a symphony musician, and some of my best childhood memories involve watching him at the kitchen table as he made oboe reeds. After he died a few years ago, I found the old tackle box in which he kept his reed tools, corked tubes and cane blanks. But most of the supplies and hardware were gone. I guess he gave it away after he retired. Sure wish I had those things now.
