You're probably right, I'll put some rounds together and see where it takes me from here. I have really, as always, appreciated all the input from you and others.
If nothing else, it has made me feel that I have at least attempted to better understand the subject at hand.

What's the worst that can happen? It gets dirty so you clean it. It's not going to do any permanent damage.

My AR stop cycling once and turned into a single shot. Problem, the gas tube came loose on the bolt key. Had to screw it back in and stake the screws so they would not get loose again. When I had the tube off it was nice and clean in there and never been cleaned.
