I received a California highway patrol 50th anniversary pistol a few years ago from an Uncle. My Uncle purchased this gun while he served that dept. I have been unable to find any info on this gun, value, rarity!

Welcome to the Forum.
Is it a revolver or a pistol? Tell us what you can. Finish, barrel length, caliber, type of sights and we can tell you more.

revolver, blued with gold inlay, I believe it is 6" maybe 8" not sure, 357 not sure on the sights maybe fixed?!?
I think it is a model 19 K frame?!?

That helps. The Catalog list a California Highway Patrol Commemorative M19. It was made in 1978 and 1979. It had a 6" barrel and was blued.
Should be marked M19-4 inside the yoke.
M19s have adjustable sights, and are .357 Magnums.

Welcome to the forum.
There is a model 19 and model 68 California Highway Patrol commemorative edition.
The model 19 had 5000 made in 1978 - 79.
The model 68 California Highway Patrol commemorative was a limited edition offered in May 1984 with the CHP "Winged Wheel" engraved on the sideplate and "California Highway Patrol" engraved on the barrel. It came in a laser engraved walnut presentation case with a belt buckle.
The SCSW does not say how many were made.

this one is the 19-4 in mint condition never fired with case and original shipping cardboard case what is a fair value to sell this for!

Search the completed auctions at gunbroker.com to see what they've been selling for. If you want to offer it here, put a post in the Classifieds, not in this forum. Good luck.

I've seen ones like it (same model and condition, but different agencies) listed for anywhere from $900 to $1200. Haven't seen one sold...
