Does anyone name their guns?

And who can forget Nash Buckingham's famous Super Fox shotgun "Bo Whoop". Since we are talking about naming automobiles also, I asked my kids to name my work truck. It is a brute with a winch, headache rack, toolbox, snowplow, and sidearm crane. This ain't no sissy boy truck. It has dents and scars and lives off road. Elk, antelope, bear, deer and buffalo blood still drips when it rains. This truck has more testosterone than a barracks full of Marines. Since it is such a brute I expected them to name it boulder buster, mountain thunder, elk stomper or something similar. My kids thought about it and unanimously named it "Buttercup".

My bear gun is Betsy. The whole town here's Betsy when she speaks. The word is out that the Bears steer clear of Betsy when she turns into a pitbull. She puts the law out on the land. Betsy is a 338WM. She's in her element when she's in the forest looking for her game. She's such a sweetie most of the time.

After learning of my friend's untimely death, I bought a Winchester Model 1892 Deluxe Takedown rifle. I call it Vero's Rifle, and whenever I shoot it, in my heart, we are shooting it together.

Other than a description like SS, 3913NS, with ivory grips I don't name my guns. I think S&W and Ruger did a workable job of naming them.

By the way a 3913NS is the gun Bond should have been carrying, not some Beretta or Walther. It is more reliable, with more firepower, and just a better pistol.

I have only named 3 guns. My first handgun, a 4in. Model 19 is named "Maggie" and my .38 Cobra derringer is "Betsy" and it's .22mag cousin is called "Old Betsy."
All my trucks and some of my cars have had names. My current rusty 97 Ford Ranger is the "Danger Ranger" cuz it's in danger of transforming into a pile of rust in the road if I hit a big bump. Also had 2 "Old Blues" and a "LuluBelle".

Just one. My 35 some odd year old Mossberg 500 12ga. Accompanied me on every deer, pheasant, duck, turkey, dove, rabbit and squirrel hunt since I bought it. Also broke hundreds of clay pigeons over the years. A childhood hunting buddy named it "Thumper" on it's first hunt, we limited out on pheasant. The name has stuck to this day.:D

I don't name inanimate objects like guns or cars. They're just tools. Well, to be honest, I've named a few cars, they all had the same first name...."Piece of......"

^^^ THIS ^^^
But I did have one car that was so bad I had to name it SH'ASATA. SH'ASATA have this, SH'ASTA have that, SH'ASTA have something fixed just about every week.

I usually don't but I have called them all kinds of names when I'm having a really bad range session.*s*

Alas, Bond was first introduced in 1953, in "Casino Royale", and it was not until the 6th book, "Dr. No", in 1958, that he had his Beretta taken away, and was issued his Walther PPK, .32, which hit "like a brick through a plate glass window". The Ian Fleming series of books ended in I believe 1966.

I think that the 3913 did not come on the scene until about 1990, by which time Mr. Fleming had passed away.

He did arm Bond with a Smith and Wesson, however, at the same time that he received his Walther: he was given a Centennial.38 Spl. Airweight. It was not to survive the Dr. No book, however, as it was lost on Crab Key, and never reappeared.

No - but if I did they would all have the same name "The Equalizer". :)

My guns are fed...

I personally wouldn't, but if you feed something you can call it anything.

My guns are fed constantly. Especially since I started shooting semi autos.:(

'Old Blue' was our Ford Galaxy.

"The Green Hornet" was my AMC

I don't name my guns but if I did..

My 686 would be 'Sweetheart'

My 5943 would be 'Baby'

My Shield would be "Junior"

My Kel Tec would be my "No fun gun"

My rifle would be "Cheap Old Deer Rifle"

My shotgun would be "Mr. Browning"

My model 36 would be "Tiny"

PS I came up with a good one. Our company insisted that Lotus Notes was a great computer program and we were going to use it and like at. After a while I called it "Lotta Snots".
