Does Anyone Really Wear Hawaiian Shirts

Yes, but I try to only buy the subdued colors that look more like camo with palm trees or bamboo patterns, no bright pink flowers or anything like that

looks better than a tshirt, especially to go out to a restaurant or traveling, a button shirt always looks better than a t-shirt, unless your a teen ager.

Aloha,

But of course, what else do you think I would wear?

I even have the Jams shorts and Lots of other short in Hawaiian prints.

When I was working for the local City government, I was known for wearing

the Loudest prints.

When I wore a subdued one, people would ask me if I was OK.

after I retired, I gave away at least a 100 or more.

If any of you practice Feng Shui, wearing loud in your face shirts are a way

to over come "bad" energy. It works because my job had to do with unhappy

people complaining. I was able to get them to calm down and go away happy.

All of my Aloha shirts are usually one size larger. Much Cooler that way.

If you carry, the really loud ones assault the eyes and most likely people will never know.

I have no idea how many I have.

Of course, about 9 months out of the year. Given the heat and humidity on the Texas coast they are ideal. I like the all cotton ones. They really soak up the sweat. Best of all they are very fashionable. P.S. don't buy the super expensive ones. I get mine at Walmart or Bass Pro Shop.

I have 12 actual Hawaiian shirts and 2 Polos that are Hawaiian print.

There is a story behind My Hawaiians; I came up in a very legalistic Pentecostal church, one day I showed up for service in Jeans and a Hawaiian and got called on it before I was 10 feet inside the door. We left that church shortly thereafter.

I now wear no other kind of shirt but Hawaiian shirts to (a different) church from May 1st till Labor day as a symbol of my freedom from legalism.

I like the Columbia shirts made of cotton and would not follow my contour (bumps and limps) so ccw did not print.
Can't seem to find them anymore.

Aloha shirts aren't all birds and flowers; there are some great Guy Harvey and other assorted fishing themed shirts out there.

As much due to my well-nourished midsection as the weather, I wear short sleeve buttoned shirts all summer and into the fall until it gets too cold. My kids have bought me several Tommy Bahama shirts, but they are silk and VERY hot, plus they need to be dry cleaned (which gets expensive). My very favorites are some multi-colored floral, 100% cotton shirts that I got at Target but wish I had bought more of them when they were available.

My wife has begged me to stop wearing t-shirts as outerwear unless I can lose about 30 lbs. Wearing a loose fitting buttoned shirt over jeans or a pair of shorts makes concealing extremely easy as well as being comfortable. I'm pretty sure that no one suspects I am carrying. Being a somewhat overweight white haired old guy makes me the least suspicious person wherever I might be. Having my j-frame with 38+p makes me feel more secure at the same time.

I have and wear a few Aloha shirts. The look is ordinary in my area of the country. My favorites are made of either cotton or silk.

I used to. Of course I was in better shape back then. Cotton for everyday, silk for semi dress.
A fat man in a Hawaiian is like a bald guy with a grey ponytail.

Uh oh, I think he just described me, perfectly!

Hawaiian shirts all summer, either cotton or silk, and a pair of shorts. I can conceal anything under one.
I've gained about 20 pounds in the last few years and what hair I have left is gray. Coupled with the fact that I haven't had a haircut in 20+ years, the description is uncanny!

If you are referring to Hi-Wai-un flowerdy shirts I have a few and wear them in the summer. They don't look good with a vest so that leaves out the other 7-8 months of the year.

I wear them frequently in the summer. They break up the signs of a weapon underneath them very well.

Love the weight and comfort and they are great for carry, but I hate the collar. If they only made one with an oxford button down collar I'd be all in!
