I was cleaning my M&P VTAC 40 this morning and found this...

I have had it for a month and have put 900 rounds through it.

Any chance you can post a larger picture. I can see that you're holding the recoil spring assembly but that's about all I can see. Also maybe a description of what you're seeing.

As soon as you put it back in the gun, the spring will be behind the bolt head like every other captured spring assembly. Don't be surprised if a new one does the same thing if you re-use the guide rod. It's set-up so the rod and spring come out as a unit, in the gun it acts just as if the bolt head didn't even exist.
