This is part of an E mail I got from Wa. state department of ecology. (This state's EPA) Due to me making enquiries as to proposed Lead policy changes.
You'll recall pre 11-08', there was a good deal of discussion as to whether draconian Lead bans were going to be instituted here in Washington. I haven't had a chance to review any of it yet, and I'm on my way out the door to work. Anyone else involved in WAC, NRA, etc. out here are encouraged to look it over and see what they may have in mind?

One of the "arguments" to keep handguns out of National Parks was the lead in bullets.

I thank the Ladies!
Being nervous about this crew is justified, me thinks? With a former governor now as trade rep to the ChiCom's, a former King county supervisor nearly in charge of HUD, and Seattle's former COP doing something DHS related, I wouldn't put anything past this gaggle! The enviro lunatic fringe is alive and well in these zip codes. This IS where they steal track hoes to knock down broadcast radio towers with, after all?

The "study" does quite a job of condemning "bullets" as a significant cause of childhood lead poisoning among other things. Talks about fragmented lead in game animals, etc.

About 4-5 years ago, there was a run on lead shot in the legislature. A bill sponsored by Rep Ruth Kagi (D-32) would have imposed a 25 cents PER OUNCE tax on lead shot -- that's $5-6 per box of shotshells and almost $100 for a 25# bag of shot. We were able to kill the bill at that time. But rest assured it will be back. The Swan Society "led" the charge on that one.

This isn't EPA's first foray into lead bans. They're ready to fight a multi-year battle to win. We need to be as committed as they are.

Thanks Hoplo!
There just ain't no bottom these whack jobs won't sink too, it would appear? While I've not read each and every word of it yet, I'll bet a steak dinner that fishermen are precluded from using Lead sinkers too, in favor of Tungsten? I already crossed swords with DoE on only "allowing" steel wheel weights for tire balancing (thus cutting off the cheapest form of product for bullet casting). It was Barb C. that repeated the old ad campaign phrasing of "Rust never sleeps". And apparently, neither do any of these turds?
