should I be about this? Shot 500rd or so over the weekend and when I took down to clean I noticed this. It was a Volquartsen pin (I have another otw) but I noticed the carrier had a spot that looked like the casing wasn't setting completely in the groove then noticed the pin looked crooked. Thats when I discovered it was broke. Only had 1 misfire that whole day too so I didn't notice it in the field.

Anyway, concerned should I be? Can I just hit it lightly with a tiny file? Or just don't worry about it?

Go back to the factory pin. I have seen many chamber dings with Volquartsen pins and, as you know, they will break. I get 12500 to 15000 rounds out of a factory pin for $20.00. I change once a year or 10000 rounds.
I don’t see what you mean by the case not sitting right in the recess. The recess is oversized anyway. The ding in the chamber should be ironed out if you know someone who has the tool. The burr should not be filed off, ironing back out is the proper fix.

I was getting too many lights strikes with the factory pin, but I'm not opposed to trying again with this CMC drop-in, I haven't tried that combo yet at all.

As far as the casing not seating fully... look at the lines here, you can see where it wasnt going up to the lip fully at some point. This was much more visible before I wiped it off, but you can still see the remnant if you look closely.
