I posted this question a few days ago in another area and got no response, so I thought I try here in the lounge.

I have a really nice 19-3 RB from about 1975 that I picked up a few weeks ago from a local shop. It has the original service grips and I would like to change them out for "authentic" (if they exist) SW RB -> SB conversion grips (new or used.) I like the feel of the square butt grips. I see SW sells conversion grips for N frames, but they don't list K frame conversion grips. I don't mind being patient and checking the classifieds etc - if I knew that they at least exist or did at one time.

If they don't exist, I might go ahead and get the Eagle conversion grips, but I'd like to try to get SW grips (w/logo) if possible. I know that I'm a little anal, but you wouldn't be reading this if you weren't also :D

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

The only RB to SB conversion grips I ever saw were for J frames, and the only place I saw them was at a local gun show last month. Even those were not S&W factory conversions. This may not help, but thought I'd at least try to answer your question.

There are several gentlemen that will fit spacers to square butt grips to fill up the bottom of the back of the grip area when placing on round butt frames.

S&W sells square butt grips for round butt N-frames, double diamond style...but they aren't anything like the original grips, just somewhat similar to them.
