I'm searching for a thumb break paddle holster for a 3" 686 +. There are some on Amazon from a maker (Masc?) I've never heard of and I'm hesitant to buy. I'm good with leather or nylon frankly, this will be for outdoors use only.

I'd rather not get in a long line for a custom piece that will cost hundreds, it doesn't seem like these guys do much with paddle holsters anyway.

Check with LoboGunLeather as well...........

Fabulous product for not a large sum of money.

My favorite paddle holster is the Kramer MSP....not a cheap solution, but what a holster!

Masc holsters are not up to snuff with the Big 3 mass manufacturers like Galco, Bianchi and Desantis.

And AZRetired is right, paddle holsters are good for on and off but horrible if you're intending to be concealed.

Just my opinion but paddle holsters have only one advantage, easy on and off. As far a concealablity, they suck.

Easy on and off is the objective here, it isn't for concealment.

That Kramer is exactly what I'm looking for but God Bless America, it surely isn"t inexpensive.

I wouldn't choose any paddle holster that used the '60s era leather paddles. Geez, we've come a long way since then, for comfort; and the leather ones might explain why some folks here, and elsewhere, think paddles don't conceal.

Galco makes a good paddle holster with a molded paddle, so does Aker. Safariland's, despite it being plastic, is quite terrible. The Mascos, made in Turkey, appear to be Galco copies. Why not try one if money is an object? Holster design and manufacture is a science, but it's not rocket science. If you get it and hate it, I'll buy it off you (promise), I wouldn't mind having a look at one in person.

I, for one, happen to like paddle holsters. I have one for my 640 .38 and one for my 19-4 snub. They work great with a jacket or coat. I particularly like my Silent Thunder Boot Heel style holster.

That said, I am a little casual about total concealment.

Check out Wild Bill Concealment Holsters out of NC. They have website. When working I carried a Glock 23 in one and when I retired i bought one for my Shield. Leather holster with "plastic" paddle (fusion paddle is what they call it). Best i found and decent concealment. Over the years when working i tried several of the major makers and never found anything as comfortable as the Wild Bill fusion.
