This is an old S&W Smith & Wesson .32 S&W break-top revolver. The color case hardening on the hammer looks very good. None of the grip screws appear to have ever been worked on as there are no marks on the screws. The serial number on the bottom of the frame is 2220XX. On the rib on the top of the barrel, I think it says "Smith and Wesson Springfield, Mass., USA PATU May 11th, 1880 January 8th, 1888 April 9th, 1889". The writing is very small and I'm not 100% positive on all the dates but I think that's what it says.
I don't know if it has a specific name or model number or if it's just called a S&W break-top revolver. I'm kind of ignorant on these old guns. It's an old family gun but I'm planning to sell so someone can enjoy and appreciate it instead of it just sitting in my safe.
I'd appreciate any info that you guys can share with me about a name or model number and a fair price to ask for this gun.
Thank You

.32 Double Action 4th Model made from c.1883-1909 in a serial range from 43,406 to 282,999. Around 239,600 made.
Looks to be in fairly decent shape, I would think it should bring $200 give or take..........
