Does this Smith and Wesson Nickel 29-2 label match the photos??

I recently made a deal on what was described to me as as a
Mid-70's Nickel 29-2 6 1/2" barrel with Target Stocks, Target Trigger, and Target Hammer with a "Red Ramp Front Sight"

Sadly,I am not as well versed at the label deciphering art as most of you fine gents, therefore, I do now seek the wells of information and unreachable knowledge from my Smith and Wesson Professors.

Would you be so kind as to bestow upon me your knowledge from your deep and vast "Wealth Of Information" regarding what "Exactly" this weapon "Officially" might be which, I have acquired? This weapon apparently has neither seen human hands(outside the factory)or the light of day, since leaving the factory in the Mid-70's and having seen the sealed shipping box, I am inclined to trust the gentleman to which I
have acquired the below weapon...

Any and all helpful information will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks in advanced--

I apologize for the images, I am unsure why only the first two
showed-up, while leaving the others to a hot-link!!

Looks right to me, but I'm not the authority. I think all the 29-2s I've ever seen were 3Ts,(Target hammer, trigger, stocks) and RR/WO.(red ramp/ white outline sights) It definitely looks like a 6.5" nickel gun to me. If it were mine, my fingerprints would already be all over it.

Gun and label match however that would more than likely be a late
70s gun, probably right before the 6.5" was dropped and 6" became standard.

Great looking gun. Serial number N600000 was from 1979-1980. I can only imagine the joy of opening that one up from its original box.
Good find!

What might something like the weapon above be worth in today's cash?? I traded a Kimber Custom Shop Ultra Raptor II
and a set of Crimson Trace laser grips..

Please be honest, because I really loved that Kimber...Did I do good, bad, aweful, good or great??

The below link shows the weapon I traded for the 29-2 new and unfired in the original shipping box and it
has the tools and presentation box. It had not seen the light of day since being packed away from humanity
when S&W sealed the boxes..

You got the short end of the trade money-wise. The nickel 29-2 is righteous but not really rare or scarce...just very nice.

It's really up to you how you feel about your deal.

The $279.99 sticker on the side of the box of the Kimber, is that what you paid for it? If so, then you shouldn't feel badly about the trade. As an even trade, not considering what was originally paid for either gun, then I think the other person came out a little better. That 6 1/2" 29-2 looks to be close to unfired in your pics, so the 2 should be equal as to finish and wear. But your Kimber also had night sights and the Crimson Trace grips, which bump the value of it up more. But, the Kimber doesn't have nearly the appeal to me as a nice, early N frame in nickel. As long as you are happy with the trade, then you came out a winner! :D

Just my opinion

But this is the S&W Forum. You traded a run-of-the-mill fancy Kimber (does it shoot reliably or are there feeding issues?) for an absolutely gleaming, bodacious S&W nickeled M29 that is/was new in the box. How can that not be a good deal?
