Dog saves family from house fire | Appnews | waaytv.com

The Spann family consisted of husband, a USMC Sergeant currently assigned to recruiting, wife, four year old daughter and one year old son... until a few weeks ago when they adopted what was described as an old dog, named Pookie. Pookie apparently really hit it off with the children.

Then a short time later, Pookie had a classic Lassie moment. A fire had started in the attic of the family home and Pookie was able to wake up the adults allowing everyone to get out safely. (Though they did lose everything and a Go Fund Me exists for them.) The roof was apparently in danger of collapsing from the fire, suggesting that were it not for Pookie, all may have perished.

Mr. Spann attirbutes it to Divine intervention.

There is probably some underlying lesson about old dogs. Regardless, it seemed a story worth sharing.

Wow, great story. If Pookie were my dog, he'd be eating steak until he couldn't chew it any more, then, I'd make steak smoothies for him.

Karma is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

Regards,

Dave
