Gentemen,

I've read several threads on Don Hume leather recently, mostly dealing with his history, career, Bill Jordan, etc. So I'd like further input.

I have the opportunity to buy 2 or 3 Don Hume holsters for S&W K frames at very attractive prices (used, of course, maybe 10 years old, but in fine shape). Even though I've been heavily involved in handguns and carrying them for over 20 years, I've never owned a Don Hume holster, mostly having used Milt Sparks, Bianchi, SD Myers, and others.

I guess my question would be, how do the Don Humes compare to other leather holsters for every day carry of a sixgun (outside the waistband)? Comfort? Look? Draw? Retention?

I appreciate any thoughts.

Don Hume is good reasonably priced leather.I use the jit slide for j,k,n frames and glocks and they have always worked well.

I have used them for EDC for K and N frame S&Ws and 1911s and highly recommend them.

I've had/have several Jit slides....... they are... OK to good holsters for the $$s ......... but not Milt Sparks or "old" Bianchi quality........

I think the Jit slide use to sell for about $20 new........great for your GHB if you might have a 5906 or maybe a 6906.......

I've had several over the years and - as others have said - they serve admirably well for the money. They're not perfect: they're not especially pretty (they're prettier than one would think for the low tariff, though), the leather used is fine but not of particularly high quality (it'll show in tough wear) and I've found the clip placement on the IWBs to situate the gun higher in the waistband than I'd prefer.

For the price? They're fine - and they used to be my "go to" inexpensive holster. Nowadays, though, that's Remora . . . but that's a horse of a different color.

Thanks for the input everyone. looks like I'll go ahead and purchase these holsters, the price is very good.

I may use one of the thumb break holsters for edc of my model 19.
