Today I walked into my LGS and on the shelf were 3 M&P's.

1. M&P Shield Plus 1 10rd and 1 13rd magazine $489.99
2. M&P Shield 2.0 45 with two 6+1 magazines $499.99
3. M&P Shield 45 with 5 6+1 magazines $499.99

After looking at them for a bit I discarded the M&P Shield Plus due to lack of spare mags.

I looked at the two 45's and while I could not find differences in the 2.0 and the original I did tell the clerk I was on the horns of an enema as to which one to get or should I pick up that Desert Eagle Commander 1911.

Clerk told me, if I were to take Shield #3 off his hands he'd knock $150 off, so, I came home with another Shield 45.

Decisions like this so late on a Friday gives me headaches. LOL

BTW, What IS the difference between the Shield 1.0 and the 2.0???

...I was on the horns of an enema...

Well, that's a phrase I haven't encountered before. I'll have to try to work that into my next conversation.:D

As to the difference between the two Shield 45s, there is none, other than the "2.0" mark on the slides of the newer versions. Technically, there is no 1.0 Shield 45. The original Shield 45 was released before the 2.0 9mm and .40 cal. versions, but it had the 2.0 internals. The 45 was not labelled as a 2.0 until the the 9s and the 40s came out. Why, I don't know. I guess it was an S&W marketing decision. Either way, the Shield 45 is a wonderful pistol, and you're going to enjoy yours.

I know I will, just got back from putting 500 rounds downrange. This here hogleg shoots nigh onto point of aim up to 31ft. While at the range I managed to sell the few cases of 9mm makarov I had in the trunk that I'd picked up at a sale, and, in a moment of great weakness, I went in and purchased that there bran new Shield plus, figure, I'll just clean her up and vacuum seal her and her mags and keep in the safe till mags become abundant.

Friends, I have SAD SAAAAD news to report:

The S&W Shield Plus is LOST to me, I say again, LOST.

It seems before I could vacuum seal the Plus, the wife picked it up and decided all on her own it's perfect for her, so she went upstairs and came back and handed me her Shield 9 2.0 with the spare mags and said, here, this stuff is yours now, the Plus is mine.

To this, the wise words of my Grandfather came to mind " John, he says, when your wife says something, to ensure everlasting love and lovemaking in the house, AGREE WITH HER", and friends, this is how I done gone and lost my Shield Plus.

I think this is the point where you go find another Shield Plus. You know, for in case the wife wants spare mags.
