Dont Do This

I was driving home from work one morning and saw what I thought was money blowing down the street. I pulled over and managed to gather it all up, $7,000. I called the local PD and gave them the money and my information. A couple of days later the PD called and said the owner had claimed the money and wanted to thank me so I told them to give him my number.

I received a call from the fellow, a nice young family man who explained he had been saving a long time to purchase a machine to start a paving business. He was on his way to buy the machine, realised he forgot his glasses and jumped out of his car to run the house to get them and the money fell out of his jacket pocket. He offered a reward but I refused. A newspaper also heard of the story and called to talk to me. They asked why I turned in the money to which I replied it wasn't mine. I had thought perhaps it was drug money that would not be claimed and I would receive it eventually, no such luck, but felt good doing the right thing.

Some years back on an Elk hunt we had stopped to eat lunch and a truck came along with some drunk idiots in it stopping to see if we had seen anything. Upon talking to them (Locals who we knew!) one of them says "hey, check out what we just found in the road" and shows me a nearly new pair of Swarovski binoculars they had picked up. We had been down that same road about 1/2 hour earlier, just not our day!(

I did this with a few items over the years. The best one was a cup of coffee. Well, that doesn't seem that interesting, but it was winter - so the condensation and splashing coffee quickly froze it to the roof, and it was still there when I pulled into the parking lot where I was meeting a group of people. They were rather amused as I'm sure were the people who saw it on the road when I was driving.

You must live somewhere REALLY cold for a hot cup of coffee sloshing over to freeze that fast!

I love those videos where they take the boiling water, throw the bucket full in the air, and it freezes before it hits the ground.

Had a small boat and when I docked I put my radio on the roof. After getting all the stuff IN the car dove off. From the noise I heard probably disinergrated upon hitting the road. Wasn't worth so kept on going. Bought a new one next day I liked my tunes when I ate lunch. Frank
