I don't know if any of your old timers have seen the video of the older bearded man (now known as "Epic Beard Man") give one of the best public beatdowns to a guy that just wouldn't shut up. A good lesson to everyone on that bus, you never know who you are messing with.

I don't want to post the link here (a lot of bad language in the video), but search AC Transit Bus Fight on youtube.

Great Video!

I like the old guy defending himself, and I like it when the woman with the camera tells the young guy he should file charges - she has it on video! Right, go ahead, present that video. It shows the old guy tried to avoid by moving to the front of the bus, the young guy carries it back to the old guy AND the young guy throws the first punch, for which the old guy justifiably and ably defends himself, and then the woman with the camera takes the old guy's bag (theft) after he leaves the bus. Good evidence for your side lady!?!

One of my officers and I both viewed the video. We'd love it if someone presented a video like that to us as "evidence" for their complaint. :)

Peace,

Cut and paste this into the search for a Mortal Kombat version -

Epic Beard Man Mortal Kombat style

Short and funny, no swearing.

That little guy shouldn't have swung at that big guy !!!! The big guy tried to defuse the situation and the little guy just keeps coming at him, I felt bad for the big guy. GOOD JOB BIG GUY!!!!

The young guy was plain stupid! The other guy may have been 67, but he looked in great shape and was decently built. Seeing the blood on the floor made me smile. The young guy was still talking smack even after he got his handed to him!

No. The entire story is here at the link to the full video. The dialogue is transcripted. If you read the dialogue and view the entire video, you might have a different understanding. There's always two sides to a story. YouTube - Epic beard man

The old guy was spoiling for a fight and baited the young guy into it. I just don't think it's right.

Just be careful in Atlantic City, I have delivered product there countless times and from what I have seen no matter how nice you are to some of those people they do not like you. If your happy and say hi to them they look at you funny cause they aren't happy. It seems to me "darned if you do and darned if you don't" apply here. I tried to word that the best I could...personally it's a bad subject.

BTW: I was riding my bike one day near AC and went into a store to buy a lock and lo and behold after paying for it and walking out the door only to see a kid carrying my bike and was going to throw it in his buddies van (parked in front of the store no less) when he saw me come out he dropped it, I pulled a camera (already used up disposable) I had out and pretended to take a picture of them as they took off....the look on his face was priceless. He's lucky I didn't grab him as I was face to face with him. Got the tag number and gave it to the police and went from there. Oh and the municipal building was across the street so I didn't have far to go to tell the police, LOL.

This actually took place out here in Oakland, AC Transit stands for Alameda County Transit. I don't think the old bearded guy was trying to pick a fight, it is actually pretty common out here for the homeless types to offer to shine your shoes. They usually carry around a little squirt bottle and a rag and leave the shoes worse off. "Shine my shoes" might be a racially charged other places, but I think the bearded guy was honestly asking about getting his shoes shined.

Before getting laid off, I took AC transit and the light rail system BART here frequently. Everything leading up to the fight is pretty much an everyday occurrence, the bearded guy just couldn't stand idle and take it anymore. If you recall the new years shooting that took place last year where the cop pulled his gun instead of his taser, these are the same folks.

That's why I specified Atlantic City....I just wasn't sure. I could presume both cities have similarities in this area though.

Thanks for that important piece of info godlessgael

I think the younger guy realized he had confused a wolf with a sheep, but some of the women on the bus just wouldn't let him back down.

I'd love to know that big boy's background. That was most definitely not his first rodeo.

I dunno Barb, there must have been an exchange prior to the start of filming. The older guy moved to the front of the bus which indicates to me that he was trying to diffuse the situation. Angry words are one thing but the wanna be thug took the first poke. If the old guy hadn't fought back the thug would have seen it as a sign of weakness and probably continued his assault. Swift and blinding violence isn't always the answer but sometimes it's the only answer. I think the old guy did what he felt was necessary to defend himself and seemed rather freaked out when it was over...
