It seems to me (although i have had no dealings with this company or the man himself) that he has encountered some serious issue either personal or business related, that has hampered his product and upset his recent batch of customers.

I say recent batch because i know of a few people who have the handle and rave about it and there was not a bad word said about the previous batch.

I know this does not change the shoddy service you have received and i think you personally did the right thing in sending it back and getting a refund...but until the truth comes out, hold off on the smear campaign...he may have a terminal illness or a sick child or he may be incarcerated or he may have been kidnapped....there are 100,000 things that could have happened...or he may just be a dodgy mask wearing schmuck....but you do not know and it is wrong to make assumptions.

There are other options available for charging handles so its not the end of the world. :)
 
Well,

It has been a month since I ordered the charging handle, nothing from Doomsday, not even communication.

Just escalated my dispute to a 'claim' on PayPal.

Strange that right after my order was placed I get a 'Thank-you' from Eric, then nothing but silence.

I forgot to mention when I received my charging handle. He included a pair of those takedown pins he has on his site for free.

I was very happy and excited and assumed it was in regards to the length of time it took from payment to shipment on his end.

That is until I went and tried to install them. The groove inside the pin isn't even large enough to accommodate a standard size take-down pin detent.
Couldn't get it to move what so ever.... Added a couple drops of oil and got it to move a little bit. Pushed a tad harder and it slipped all the way in.

Then I couldn't get it back out without taking a toll pin punch to the opposite side of it.

Took everything apart and saw the pin was chewing the detent to all hell

I could care less about the detent. However it proves there's not a single ounce of QC at the plant where his stuff is manufactured.
I've got photos but I need to put them on photbucet first.

Ordered an ambi charging handle on 04/19/15... Not a word since then. Thinking of filing a claim through PayPal. I don't mind if it takes a while to receive a product, but at least send an email or something detailing the delay.

When you file the claim just be prepared to wait still. When I did mine he didn't respond to PayPal till the last day of the deadline.

So he responded to Paypal but not you? Odd. Like an episode of Colombo i cant wait to see this case wrapped up.

knowing it had glowing reviews .......

Keith, I hope for your sake it was a fluke. Don't count on it though.....

If there is a fault with the pins i will just pop in in my lathe

and make the indent groove larger :p

i am using a brass indent pin so may be ok;)

I did get a reply to my refund request filed via PayPal. Basically just a quick message to let me know the refund would be processed once the return is received. Mailed the CH & pins back yesterday, hopefully they don't drag their feet with the refund.
 
Now, I really would like to know what's going on with DoomsDay.

Wonder how many refunds, failure to contact, and dissatisfied customers PayPal allows before they ban someone from using their services?

They have until May 22 to reply to PayPal in my dispute.

Nothing but cricket sounds, so far.
 
19th for me, if no refund before then, I have to escalate to a claim on the 18th or permanently lose the opportunity to do so.

Unfortunately, it was just an email confirming my handle had been shipped...

Maybe they're starting to work they're way trough the trove of emails they received and might get to some of our questions. I highly doubt it but any activity from doomsday's end is somewhat of a good thing.... Right?

Just got notified by PayPal that the dispute was decided in my favor and my refund will be available in 5 days.

DoomsDay didn't reply to any correspondence, period.

Never again.

Learnt my lesson.

Now, I wish Tacticool 22 would offer a charging handle for our 15/22's built similar to the "Raptor".

Never had a problem with them and their stuff is quality built.

This is only the second time in 10 years I've had to dispute charges from a vendor.

Disappointed fer shizzle.
