Distance is 3 yards?
Yep. Tougher than it sounds. Im sure some of you pistoleros with more experience could do better than me though.

Idea is to get where you can shoot it clean 50/50 then step back the yardage.

I can shoot fast but only with medium accuracy. Im doing this to hone the fundamentals.

I've used a random number pattern with a spotter callng out numbers to mix it up versus completely static shooting.
Have also used a BattleShip shoot-n-see target where we each take turns five shots per turn.

Remember - smooth is fast. Slow down a little and concentrate on basics - sight alignment, trigger control. Speed will come.

For sure. This is forcing that. Ive been focusing on speed and need to balance it out with honing accuracy through practicing the fundamentals.

What's the time limit? If two seconds per shot, that's a real challenge; if no time limit, not so much.
I was shooting between 1-2 seconds a shot. When guys gets real good at it they run it on a timer. First I need to get up to 48-50/50 consistently then ill see whats next. Either time it or step back to 5 yards.

I like the drill (and you did well). Where are these targets available?

Looks like a challenge. Peaked my interest so I did a search. The pistol-training web page has lots of training ideas as well as the Dot Torture. It also appears you can download pdf targets from their site, at least some of them if not all.
Got something new to do at the range.

So using my laser cartridge...I shot 50/50 in the garage tonight. I surprisingly shot 5/5 support hand only.

So...somebody is flinching anticipating recoil...

Whats my solution? Shoot one dry fire five drill?

I printed some out. Now the fun starts. I think a revolver like a K 22 or K 38 wouldn't be a challenge. Model 52 either. I'll try it with my 638 snubby in 38 special or 317 in 22 LR. I'll bet it's harder than it looks.

I was just thinking a 22 would be great. Next to no recoil. Im thrilled with the drill though. Sights and triggers and this and that dont matter if we dont have the fundamentals down.

I know what to work on now and thats part of improving.
