Today I went up to the indoor range at my club above Harrisburg. The doctors have removed all my restrictions from my cataract surgeries and I decided it was time to sight in my two Model 41s with the optical sights. I still have to shoot cross-dominantly because it looks like I have permanent issues in my right eye from the retinal hemorrhage. So when I got to the range, I took both guns out of the range bag and switched on the optical sights. When I looked through the tubes HOLY SMOKE what a difference. The green splats I had been aiming with turned into nice, round green dots! So for my last target, offhand at 25 yards I put 8 out of ten rounds in the slow fire target rings with one center punch. I probably dropped the 2 rounds from firing the prior 120. I'd show the target but my computer is giving me fits. I'm looking forward to this season.

Hey! Now I have an excuse for my bad shooting. Doc says I have cataracts but they’re not ready to be removed.

I'm in (sort of) the same boat, but it's only in my non-dominant eye so I have no excuse. I have found I need to close my non-dominant eye. That hasn't seemed to affect much.

Tonight was my first bullseye match after my cataract surgeries. It was a 60 round match, 20 rounds each for slow fire, timed fire and rapid fire for a possible score of 600-60X. Having a nice round green dot instead of the green splat made aiming a lot more consistent. I started out in slow fire down pretty far but at least with better aiming I was shooting discernable groups. Eventually after some sight adjustments I started getting the groups centered. Because of the slow start, I finished the match with a total score of 366-1x, but with the last rapid fire target having a score of 83 out of 100. It's been almost 2 1/2 years dealing with eye issues but now I think everything is coming together for me. My thanks to all of you for your support.
