Dothan Gun Show Friday Status report

Debbie and I got to the fairgrounds shortly after 1PM. We got signed in and received our table assignments.
After several trips to the car I was able to unload everything and get the tables organized.
I don't leave any guns over night as i don't really know these folks. As a result I put them on the table, installed straps and then repacked them.
Everything else was left right on the tables and covered up.
Tomorrow we will be joined by Wiregrassguy, who ate my lunch in December.
There were still many empty tables by the time we left.
Hopefully everybody will be there tomorrow.
There were not any real deals out there yet...maybe tomorrow.
Hopefully the place will be crowded tomorrow.
I will give a Saturday update when we get home tomorrow.
On the way home we had Dinner in Hartford, AL. And then stopped for gas before getting home. Regular increased $0.20 between noon and 4:30PM. I really felt for the guy driving the Ford F250 Diesel. But he also took it in stride.
The next report will be tomorrow evening.

Saturday in Dothan

Decent crowd through most of the AM. Lots of Lookie-Loos but little business until well after noon.
If I only had one table I might be in the black, but with three we're still in the RED.
Lots of over priced wares offered, but most were only of interest to the owners.
More S&Ws that Colts spotted on tables. Lots of new guns and many tables of "Evil Black Rifles" available.
Manny tables of Chinese wares like cheap knives and stun guns.
Lots of Ammo available, at prices more favorable than past shows.
Tomorrow the show is open from 10-4.
We are hoping that things greatly improve over they events of today.
The only interesting piece seen on a table was a 1903 Colt .32 ACP with extra Colt mag for $795. That was a good sell price but not a good buy piece.
Wrap up report tomorrow.
Everybody have a good night.

Dothan on Sunday was dead. Most of the dealers I know had a show like we did...a real DUD.
This is the last show we will do in Dothan. It is $170 cheaper to walk through, go home and not be bored for two full days.
The Sunday crowd was sparse, sales almost not existent and in general a very boring day was had by all.
Not much offered for sale today. No deals to be had and not much happening.
We have a couple of WY shows over Memorial Day weekend and the first weekend in June, then we have a local show in Andalusia, AL that we will attend for the first time in August.
The big State (AL) show is in two weeks in Hoover, AL near Birmingham. Debbie and I will be in Florida visiting Deb's Step Mom and my #2 son.
We sincerely hope everybody had a better weekend than we did.
