Dothan Sunday Wrap Up
Today's crowd was sparce at best. But they there was a steady stream of tire kickers and such until about 10 AM until 3PM.
Most of the vendors complained about the lack of sales, and how much it cost them to set up and other ecpenses.
Our gross for both days was $395, and $75 of that belongs to my son. My largest single sale was only $40.
When we factor in the $195 for tables, the cost of goods sold and the $395 that we took in we are in the red. But being local for this one we didn't have any motel bills.
Since we didn't make any major sales or trades I didn't buy a gun like I usually do. I didn't see anything that really tripped my trigger, not to mention some of the obscene asking prices.
Yesterday I spent $4 on Home baked chocolate chip cookies. Today I bought a 55" hiking staff for $20, 100 rounds of NATO Surplus 9 MM ammo for $26, and six dollars for a used copy of USS Seawolf and a Denzel Washington DVD from 1989 that I have not seen.
This will probably be out last Dothan show. Of the last five we only had one that was a good show.
We still have three Collector Shows in Hoover, one club show in the next county and our annual trek to Wyoming for the State Collector Show over Memorial Day Weekend. Until we find some more shows withing commuting distance those will have to keep us happy.
We go to Hoover (Birmingham) in two weeks, so watch of the reports from there.
Judging for other postings about shows this weekend we were not the only folks to have a dud.
I keep reminding myself that I do this for fun, and just hope to break even...which does not happen very often.
