Sunday Wrap-Up in Alabama
My apologies for not posting last night. I caught a bug that hit shortly after noon. I manage to pack up and drive most of the way home before the nausea hit. It wasn't bad but realy caused some pain in the abdomen. By the time we pulled in to the drive way and car port all I wanted to do was crash.
I turned on the gas fireplace, covered with two throws and it was lights out until about 3AM when I woke up and turned off the firplace and went right back to sleep until after 9AM.
Not sure what it was, but I don't want any more of it. By 9 AM I was fine.
As far as the show went we had three sales yesterday, a sling, used range ear muffs and a very used holster. Total sales was $28.00.
It didn't even cover the cost of the sales taxes I paid out to the county, city and state.
I tried to make several trades, but was never able to close the deals.
I thought long and hard about several M19s but couldn't justify the $$$. Same with several 1911 Clones and a Couple of Colts, but again I couldn't justify what the guys wanted.
My total buys at the show were three bottles of TRU-OIL for $24...NO TAX. For some unknown reason it is no longer available in Enterprise, AL.
All-in all the show was by far the best show I have seen in AL. I just wish they would get rid of the NIB specimens and have a real show.
All of the S&W grips I saw were priced out of range. They were all priced just like on the internet, regardless of how nice they were.
Consequently I did not bring any "new to me" grips home.
Lots of new Kydex holsters, some nice used quality (leather) holsters, but nothing for any of the guns I have.
I wish I had more good news to report, but alas you have read everything I have to report.
The next tow outings are Riverton, WY over Memorial Day weekend and
and the July edition of Alabama Collector Show back in Hoover.
Just hope I don't get stuck in the back 40 again. The finley center is huge and I don't walk as fast as I once did.
It seems that my gait slows as the years advance.
All in ll is was a worthwhile weekend well spent.
