WHAT'S YOUR OPINION OF THIS "THING" FOLKS?

Arsenal Arms debuted this DOUBLE BARRELED 1911 style pistol recently, both in .45ACP and .38 Super. Yep . . . DOUBLE crocked and locked!!!

They tried to use as many standard 1911 parts as possible, including cramming two single stack 1911 magazines, side-by-side inside the obscenely wide grip area!

Each pull of the trigger rewards the owner with a round fired from each chamber before it ejects (hopefully) a spend cartridge on both sides of the slide!

At well over 4 lbs empty, at least it could be an effective hammer I assume.

I'm sure the 1911 purists who can't stand the SW1911 because it has an external extractor are having an apoplexy over this!

Frankly, I think it's ridiculous...a novelty at best.

Tom ... Did you see the prototype make the rounds last year? The video of this beast hit the airwaves and some folks thought it was a one-off joke. Evidently not. The grip looks to have the dimensions of a brick, and the recoil must be ridiculous. I'm sure someone will love it! Too bad it will cost twice as much to shoot.

Two shots with one pull of the trigger will draw a certain amount of unwelcome interest from the BATFE.

What makes you say that? It's just like firing two guns at once. they both fire at the same time, so it's not rapid fire. they both hit within an inch of each other, so it's not randomly spraying bullets. And since this gun is in production (it's not a prototype) and available to the general public, the bureau obviously doesn't see it as an issue.

Sure looks to me like it meets the BATFE definition of a machine gun

2.1.6 Machinegun. Firearms within the definition of machinegun include weapons that shoot, are designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot without manual reloading by a single function of the trigger.

Guns like these really fuel the fire for anti-gun proponents. I'm all for free enterprise, and the 2nd amendment, but gimme a break!

Yes lets stick to our muzzle loaders please.

Just out of curiosity whats considered "guns like these"? Counting this 1911 what else? What era is "safe"? Should i just have a 30-30 and a SAA? Should i carry a powder bag with me?
