Sorry, I first posted in another thread. But at the range today I pulled the trigger once and two shots were fired before I got my finger off the trigger, like a full auto. They were the last two left in the mag so I don't know if it would have continued or not. continued shooting after reloading and it never happened again. Any ideas ?

Time to call customer service and get it looked at. The rifle has become a hazard for whatever reason. Slam fire or not, it needs an expert gunsmith looking at it.

This can happen if the trigger disconnect does not engage. There can be many causes. One cause can be a very light trigger. One cause can be lack of follow-through on the trigger. Those you can correct. Or, the trigger assembly needs adjustment, or parts replacement.

How is the trigger? If it`s light and you do not hold it tight against your shoulder it can do what you described. Bump fire.

Thanks

I fired about 50 more through it after having the Smith
at the gun shop check it out, he found nothing unusual
and the trigger pull is normal. Will shoot very carefully and see what happens before sending back to S&W if it occurs again
