I advertised a S&W 686 box and listed the components that were included with the box. I offered to provide photographs for any serious purchaser who wanted them. The box is in excellent condition and inclusions were accurately described. Doublesharp did not ask any questions or ask for any photographs.

Instead, upon receiving the box in question, he demanded a $10.00 rebate which I refused to pay after being insulted by this gentleman. Beware in business dealings with Doublesharp as his practices live up to his name.

Here is the pm exchange Swelfelo and I had. I maintain that a one piece box described in good condition should have the center triangle that holds the gun. The box is incomplete without the center section and I maintain a seller is being deceptive when he describes an incomplete box as being in good condition and then hides behind "you should have asked" when called on his misrepresentation.

Robert,

I received the boxes yesterday and they were certainly well packaged. I really like the 586 box but I'm disappointed that the inner triangle liner is missing on the 686 box. Did you mention that it was missing in your ad?

Robert,

Of course the center liner is important. It's an integral part of the box. Without it you have nothing but a shell.

Robert,

Again we disagree and I think you are being deceptive when you describe a box as being in good condition when it is incomplete.

Had you said you were selling a box shell with vapor paper your description would have been accurate.

I think you should refund me $10.

Dave,

I think that calling me "deceptive" is the flip side of my calling you foolish and lazy when you easily could have obtained a picture of what was being sold or asked me about the liner. I decline to give you $10.00. I will offer $2.00 to end this exchange.

At the risk of belaboring the point, it should seem fairly obvious that Doublesharp failed to perform any due diligence before purchasing the box. Now he blames me when he did not ask any questions or obtain photographs of the box in advance. My listing clearly offered photographs and specifically described what was included, and we all know a photograph is worth a 1,000 words.

What galls me is being insulted by a gentleman who demanded a substantial rebate coupled with an insult. You will note from the exchange that I never called names and merely pointed what I could have said in response to being called "deceptive."

It is a pity that a simple transaction has devolved to this point, and I believe that the membership can judge for itself what really happened here. If not, I have over 40 positive transactions on ebay and over 115 on Gunbroker. I will let my record speak for itself.
