Yikes !! ..... I've been watching a lot of first hand personal accounts from retired military officers, airline pilots, LEO's .. etc. etc. about what they personally have seen and know on this subject and it's ancillary topics .. (aliens ?)

I have come to this conclusion..... We (the general public) know about as much of the truth of how our universe operates (and our "black ops") as a lemur in Madagascar knows about New York City.

As a child of 6 living in Washington D.C. , I remember the big UFO "flap" in 1952. 1952 Washington, D.C. UFO incident - Wikipedia ....been curious ever since !

I am open minded about it. I find it hard to believe that mankind know everything about the universe and everyone/everything that lives in it.

If we truly have been visited by ETs then I can accept that. I don't really care one way or the other.

But what I DO care about and I care about it a WHOLE LOT is that I never ever want to SEE a UFO and I REALLY don't want to see any ETs. I don't care of they are hostile or friendly If I was to see one it would completely upset my concept of life and my world.

Having seen one such object years ago (I was on duty at around 2 in the morning...so forget the drinking or anything else), I came to the conclusion that most of these UFO's are actually man made objects resulting from research (or skunk works). If one were to crash, you'd probably find it manned by USAF personnel and not the Klingons.

In my case, it was fairly close to a major international airport...so if SOMEONE SOMEWHERE didn't know what was going on, I'm quite sure there would have been interceptors in the air from Ellington Field.

That being said, the question of "is there anyone else out there"? Quite possible. But keep in mind even if they aren't as advanced as us (say our 1940's-60's tech) they have already seen our world by means of television broadcasts (which go out into space forever) and have decided that our civilization isn't ready for any contact. The same if they were highly advanced. In that scenario, the objects are probably probes (I know what's coming...that isn't REMOTELY where I'm going with this) and unmanned to keep an eye on us.

Of course, if they are the Borg or Daleks, we would have already found out their intent, wouldn't we?

UFOs vs Aliens.....

Do aliens exist. I'm quite sure that they do.

Are they visiting us? I'm just as sure not.

I've seen many UFOs. But with a reasonable explanation they generally become IFOs. Sometime the'U' remains 'U' without becoming 'I'.

The most UFOish one that I saw was a solid light that moved quickly from horizon to horizon. Others saw it, too. I thought, "Meteors don't look or act like that." 20 years later when I took up astronomy as a hobby I found out that meteors did indeed look like that....sometimes. So the UFO became an IFO after all those years.

If I posted a video on youtube and left out the second half of the story, it would be another eyewitness account that proves aliens exist in the vicinity of Earth.

Another one was reported in the paper that an object hovered 50 feet over some railroad tracks and a lot of people saw it. A friend brought it up the next day and I said, "It's probably a piece of space junk falling to earth." The next day it was reported that a Russian satellite had fallen the night before. My friend said, "How did you know that?" I had just been up there looking around a lot and I know how that sort of thing can fool you. That 'floating over the railroad tracks' sounded just like the kind of illusion I was used to seeing. Of course if they hadn't published the second part of the story.....

Good point. Radio and TV signals travel at the speed of light and TV has been being broadcast for around for 80 years and radio for nearly 200 years.

So, the other side of that coin is that if other civilizations as advanced, or more advanced than ours, exist why is it that we haven't seen THEIR television/radio type broadcasts? SETI (and other similar efforts) has been scanning the sky for signs of transmissions by intelligent beings for more than 40 years. But so far, we've found nothing...

When in the Navy in the 70's coming back from a Med cruise A large cigar shaped object was seen and photographed by several including the ship's intelligence officer in a clear, cloudless sky in broad daylight. I was sleeping as I had Mid watch and missed it.
In the 80's coming home from a meeting with a friend who was a member of NYPD and driving. I happened to see a large object with lights. Told Mike to stop car as there was a UFO. We go out & looked he said it was a blimp. It went right over us soundlessly.
Next day it was all over the news & he called me & said "We did see a UFO.
It's on the web as "Hudson Valley" sighting.
WE ARE BEING WATCHED

Are there sentient beings beyond our solar system, galaxy?

To answer this question you need only consider the size of the universe; it's really big. So large that it's incomprehensible. If there aren't any other sentient beings out there, it's an awful waste of space.

So, let's assume that there are others out there. However, even if they were a million times more advanced than we are, the chances of them visiting our planet are infinitesimally small. Think about it, there are at least 300 billion stars in the Milky Way. There are at least 100 billion galaxies. If a race of beings looked at one planet every year, it would take more than a trillion years to see a majority of them.

Then there's the distances to deal with. The closest star to Earth (not counting Sol) is 4 light years away. Even if they could travel at the speed of light (which Einstein says they can't) it would take 4 years just to get there. That takes the exploration number to more than 5 trillion years to explore just this galaxy. And by the time they reached the last planet it's already been 5 trillion years since they explored the first.

Unless faster than light is discovered, any exploration of the universe is just science fiction. But remember, it's really big and old so, yeah, it could happen.

I think this is dead on!!! I woudn't visit us either after seeing this show.
