Downsized to just 2 handguns. Good choices?

Looks like great choices OP. I'd have a tough time going with just two wheels guns. Even so, were that my "fate" I'd probably be somewhat similar in holding onto a big/small .357/38 guns: 4" 28-2 and a 3" 65-5 for me. I can't picture life without my trusty 45ACP Colt 1911 though, and as such I would likely fail any 2 gun regime at this point.

If I was going to limited my self to two handguns I would choose two that used the same ammo. With your choice I would want the S&W 2" in .357 instead of .38spl.
What I am working toward is having a handgun in each popular caliber:
.22LR, .22 mag, .25acp, .32, .380, 9mm, .40&W,.44mag,.45acp, and .45 Colt. In this way during an ammo shortage, any handgun ammo found will be something I can use. Shotguns: .410, 20ga, 16ga, and 12ga. Rifles: .22LR, .30 Carbine, .223, .30/30, .308, .30/06.
This might be a dumb plan, but a great plan for purchasing firearms.

Thanks for all the replies. I am interested in a lever action but they are not easy to find around here, at least for a decent price.
I think first and foremost I need to stock up on ammo with a quickness. And reloading gear!
