I have a couple of DPMS rifles set up with 18" barrels. .223/5.56 barrel is 1:7 twist shoots .75 MOA with 69 and 77gr ammo.

My 18" LR-308 is a 1:10 twist and shoots sub-MOA as well with 168gr and 175gr Federal Gold Medal Match ammo. Around one MOA with 147/150 gr mil surplus ammo.

Glad to hear about the accuracy. I'm more than likely going with the .204 Ruger in a 24" bull barrel, just barrel shopping now. The DPMS barrel I'm lookin at has a 1:12 twist.

Looked at it after your recommendation. You would think that with all those calibers they woulda had a .20 but they don't or at least I didn't see one. I would consider a .20 Practical, but don't see ANY of those barrels listed on any site, only complete uppers and they like 'em ALOT.

Yeah I thought they had .20's I will bet you could call them and buy one though...

I've got a 5.56, 24" heavy/1:8. Accuracy is awful. Groups range from .85 to 2" with many different loads tried. It is an inch-and-a-half gun. I would not buy another.

Gamecock is that the AR Performance Barrel? The review on them were good but I havent bought one. I was thinking about it but hadnt yet.

Dunno. I don't know what that is.

The gun was assembled by my LGS. Double Star upper and barrel. Only markings on barrel are:

"DSC 5.56 Nato 1-8 SS"

High dollar Leupold glass. Jewell trigger.

Nope not an AR Performance Barrel "whew" I have been looking at one of their longer barrels for my long distance rifle...thinking about going 20 to 24" and putting my Sport barrel on my homebuilt and then building something else. Maybe a 300blackout or a 6x45. Next years dream, really leaning toward a 6x45. I can resize my brass .2"

Let me add that Doublestar was getting their barrels from Wilson and Shaw. I don't know their supplier now.

Have a DPMS 16" carbine. 1:9 twist. Brutally accurate with good 55 gr ammo. Good to very good with 62 gr hunting rounds. Very good with Wolf 55gr cheapo ammo.

No complaints. it's a good shooter!

OK, I rolled the dice on a DPMS 24" bull barrel in .204rug. Should be here in a month or 2. Now to find reloading supplies and data. Thanks for the input.
