Drawn back into wheelguns..

When my brother first started out in LE in the early 1970s, his agency was revolvers only. He retired in the mid-90s and by that time his department had switched to auto pistols of various brands finally settling on the Glocks of 40 caliber IIRC.

After he retired he did not carry for quite a while and seemed to lose interest in guns. Then about ten or so years ago, his interest in guns revived and he went back to revolvers.

As for me, I have always preferred wheelguns by S&W and Colt and I'll likely be a revolver man to the day I die.

I started my LE career in 1989 with a revolver, but pretty quickly moved to autos as soon as I could attend the auto pistol class. I did carry various S&W revolvers as back-up guns for the entire 29 years. My dad retired from the same dept. in So. Calif and revolvers were the only approved handguns during his time. I have his personally owned Colt Trooper, which was born the same year I was. He was only able to carry it for a short time, so it's in very good condition.

Condolences on the loss of your father.

I grew up with S&W wheelguns. The only semiautomatic pistols we had were Ruger Mk1 .22's and Dad bought a Beretta 92SB when they came out.

Fast forward to 2020. The only Smiths I own are wheelguns. Until I came across a 4006TSW CHP pistol at a good price.

I now have 11 3rd Generation pistols LOL.

But, to be fair, I picked up a cherry 10-7 4" LNIB with tools and papers, and a very nice 25-2 6-1/2" in the presentation case with all.

I've been shooting the 3rd Gen's more than the wheelguns lately, but I won't pass on a nice revolver, especially if it's in great condition with the box and papers.

Added this to my collection today.. Been searching all over for one

Wow, that sure is a nice one...But I'm not sure exactly what model it is?

Been hauling a Model 640-1 Pro around on my right hip for five years. Don't even know it's there.

Great choice.

I'll add my condolences on your loss. Thanks for what you do for us.

I've always loved wheel guns. For about the past 5 years, I've come to the conclusion that autos (for me, don't want to start an unnecessary debate) are superior for self-defense. However, we use what we can. I currently own three autos. A small, a medium, and a large. Due to ongoing hand issues, I may have to transition back to revolvers.
