Grab copier paper box.

Just the lid.

Invert box-lid on floor.

Pour semi-dried brass into box lid.

Do not use this method if you have cats.

For true Surgical Brass I recommend the Graham Field Dry Heat Autoclave!

I sometimes put wet brass directly into the walnut tumbler. Or sometimes I spread the wet brass on a towel and leave it for an hour or overnight.

Normally, I'm interested in moving things along so I go direct from wet to dry.

Add about 30 min to an hour of dry tumbling and the walnut absorbs any water.

If any little "Walnut clods" develop in the brass or in the primer pockets, they either come out with a few turns through the media separator spinner, or when I twist a primer pocket cleaner through the bottoms. But that's rarely a problem. Just physically agitating the clean brass knocks anything out of them.

Rule3,

There you go RUNNING YOUR POST COUNT UP AGAIN!:p

No more absurd then using a food dehydrator. Or putting it in the family oven, Here in Fl, 30 minutes on the driveway it's to hot to handle. Hey, if you want the very best!

I hear a Blue version is on it's way.

I have always thought that tumblers biggest benefit is to the manufacturers of medium and tumblers so all of this sounds like a colossal waste of time to me. If i pick up brass of unknown origin or field brass i will wash in soapy water and air dry but tarnish is not dirt and doesn't effect performance. I have some of the prettiest shiny black brass in the world. The blacker it is the better.

Place it in front of the TV while there is a speech by one of our illustrious Politicians. The HOT AIR will dry them in 2 seconds! :D

Longer than that, the BS turns them an ugly brown though & you have to start over.

I use hot water and citric acid to clean the brass, i use the oven in the kitchen for drying,

I use an inferred ceiling heater I mounted on the wall above one of my workbenches. It uses two tubes and will dry a cookie sheet of brass in 20 minutes flat. I already had the heater and didn't use it so it was a no brainer for me.

I used to spread my brass out on a towel and use a fan. That method would often leave spots. I picked up a NIB food dehydrator at a yard sale for $7. It works beautifully and I have plenty of trays to spare. It dries the brass in an hour or less depending on how many trays I stack on.

Maybe I am backwards. I give them the vinegar bath, drain, and then throw them in the corn cob media. Run them for 8 hours and they come out dry.

I tumble brass in RCBS Sidewinder with stainless pin media, seperate pins from brass, towel dry, then dry in vibratory with corn cob media.

I must be missing something. I went to SS pin tumbling to get away from the vibrator/media thing. Can't imagine doing both!

I was thinking the same thing. I hate the dust from the media.

I see you're in MN so I can't help myself! My prescription would be to come out here to Arizona, wash 'em and lay 'em out in the warm sunshine . . . shouldn't take long to dry and you can enjoy a nice ice tea under the covered patio while you're waiting!
