My grandson, already got three deer last week, two on muzzleloader, now it's duck time on the Eastern Shore, MD. Out shoots his dad all the time. Wish I was there with them.

One of the best ways EVER to start a day. Or end a day. Or even fill in the middle part of a day.

I duck hunted on Lake Huron's Saginaw Bay for years with my Golden Alex and buddy John. We set up a travel trailer as our base and a duck boat in a slip ready to go. We had great fun and even hit the great migration one afternoon when thousands of ducks flew over head at little more than arms length. After we shot our limit we stayed and just watched. Some of the best hunting ever.
Sadly Alex is long gone and John moved south. I don't hunt them anymore with my back issues and finally sold my decoys this summer in a garage sale. It was my best hunting right up there with pheasant hunting with my Brittany and Setters.

Just a reminder to you duck hunters, if you find a banded duck please call 1-800-327-BAND and give them the number on the tag (The # is also on the tag). I volunteer each fall to band hundreds of ducks here in Vermont and that information is very helpful. After you report the tag they will advise you when and where the duck was tagged. Thanks.
