A couple months ago we got bad news from the vet.

Duffer was diagnosed with cancer. The vet put him on some meds that cleared up a couple other troubles he was having and we were blessed with 2 more good months with him.

The last couple days were rough and my pal was slipping.
Today was the day. I held his head in my arms and he went quickly and painlessly.

Rest In Peace, Duffer.

Making himself comfortable for a nap on Mrs. Hillbilly's great-grandmother's davenport.

This is often how he would wait for my wife & daughters to come home.

My sympathy to you

You have my sympathy on your loss of Duffer...what a good looking dog...we went through this about a year ago with our Bella a 170 lb. Mastidane...(your Duffer very much resembles our Bella) Bella developed bone cancer and died at age 8 1/2...way too soon...I completely understand what you are going through...you are in my thoughts...Roger

I also gave your post a"like". What a beautiful dog Duffer was and you have a bundle of wonderful memories. That being said, I know how much sadness his passing has left you with now. I'm glad you had quality time for those 2 months. RIP Duffer and my sincere condolences to you and all the folks who loved him.

Duffer was a handsome feller and I am hurting for you today for the loss of your friend. I will say a prayer for your comfort. Try to think about the good times the good companionship and the love. That is how you keep him in your heart. God bless...
