I don't know if anybody else has done this. I just typed a rather lengthy post to one of the threads in the forum. When I was done, I read through it to make sure I said what I wanted to then promptly hit the back screen key and lost the whole post. As soon as I did it I realized I hadn't clicked on the post button. It was a long post and I decided not to do it again. I'm old and maybe it's the old timers disease kicking in.

Yes, me too. I guess we just forget where we were in posting and then punch the wrong key and the whole thing is gone. Gets plumb frustrating.

I lost a few posts when I first started out on this infernal computer thing.
To combat that I now leave "words" open and do my typing and correcting on that and then cut paste it to whatever forum I'm on.
Works for me!

Been there...Done that!
My computer didn't come with MSWord installed so Sometimes I use Notepad.Actually I find it just as easy to type it in the Forum and before posting I'll copy the post as a precaution.

I often go back and delete the whole thing intentionally. Some times the humor or sarcasm that exists in my mind is beyond the capabilites of my written word.

My frankenstein cobbled up lap top has .
a mind of it's own.
It moves the cursor and words vanish or jumble up.
Driving me nuts.
I will continue from correcting.
The hard drive was swappedhaunted out and it has gone nuts since.
Great now it's working, must beor something.

Done it myself a few time.
Next time try to use the forward button on your browser. I've had it come back doing it this way. I use IE11 and it works for me sometimes. Try it just type in the quick reply window and use the back arrow then use the forward button and it should be there. I have done it using the back button several times and then the forward button and it was still there, as long as you don't go into another thread first.

If I'm doing something lengthy I'll highlight the whole thing and "Ctrl+C". That way if I fumble-finger something and it disappears and it's "Ctrl+V" to the rescue. Or for those who don't really do keyboard shortcuts it's right-click on the mouse to use the "Copy" and "Paste" functions.

Especially when I've been composing for a long-time! There's every chance the board, or your computer, have timed-out on you while you're typing away.

I do it all the time because I've got a high speed rate for typing without mistakes. I get off on a tangent or get into a rant and end up with a page full of script, then decide to erase the whole thing because in the end I realize nobody really wants to hear my guff...I have made critical mistakes like in the old days forgetting to save stuff and loosing it into cyberspace after working on it for hours or even days on one occaison.

Yup. I do it all the time. Sometimes accidently, sometimes I just read it and decide it does not add anything new to the discussion. Now and then, I even mean to not post it and do it anyway. Old and half blind is my excuse. I will endeavor to strive to persevere. Thank you.

I'm typing and then the cursor jumps back two lines and I'm typing over what was already there. Chunks of text just disappear. I've learned to either post and edit, or if it's a long wordy post, work in it in another software, like wordpad, then pasting it into the forum.
With Windows 8 these problems are compounded 10 fold.

I look at this a little differently. If I compose a long thread or response to a thread, it's usually a good idea if I delete it. Most times I'm too mean spirited or snarky. I have to remind myself I'm here to learn, share ideas and experiences with others, not to take cheap shots, (no pun intended).
