The Canadian made Dunham red rubber soled waterproof boot had been my mainstay for over 45 years. Went out of production about 10 years ago after New Balance acquired Dunham.
A company in Vermont, Family Footwear Center, has contracted with a Canadian company, STC, to manufacture the 7701 boot again.
I just received a pair and I am very pleased. With the exception of a few details they’re pretty much identical to the originals.

Good news! I wore them to work and for hunting for decades. too. When they stopped making them I found one more pair online and I've saved them for upland bird hunting.

I looked at them on their website. Looks like something that might interest me. I like the sole, as it's different from the clunky ol' lug soles found on so many outdoor boots. Thanks for the heads up on this.

Always had several pairs in rotation, one pair being my good boots, the next being my work boots, the third pair just shy of the trashcan reserved for really nasty work.
I found my “one more pair” at a family shoe store a few years after production stopped. Been babying them since.
Have had several people notice them and ask where I got them. Most recent was this spring in the supermarket. Fellow turned out to be a steeplejack, said he really liked the soles which didn’t leave marks on the steeple when he was working from the bos’ns chair. The chevron pattern doesn’t hold onto dirt and mud the way deep lug soles do although traction on ice isn’t great.
FWIW when I located these online initially they were on sale, $169 ($20 off). A few days later, about a week ago, when I decided to purchase I went back to the website to find the sale over. Instead of ordering online I called the customer service and mentioned I’d previously seen the sale price and the very pleasant lady instantly offered that price to me. Turned out there was no shipping charge either.
