I went to Dunhams today to get an air rifle and some bb's.
The clerk commented that "those won't be here next week".
When I asked why, he said they are getting out of the gun business and have already sold all their ammo last week.
That's when I noticed that all their shotguns and rifles were marked "clearance", and had a 10% discounted price on them.
Wow.

I guess gun retailers are really scared of getting sued now, huh?

Bummer, I hadn’t bought a firearm or ammo there in years but did get a deer stand last year.

Maybe gun/ammo sales didn't account for that much of their business/profits. Or maybe they just decided guns and ammo just aren't worth the trouble with all the paperwork and record keeping.

Fully stocked with guns and ammo in Midland. Weekend flash sale has Armscor 22LR 1000 rounds $32.

never heard of Dunhams...but I imagine they are a sporting goods store?
We have Dicks here and Walmart and they are phasing out guns and ammo until their stock is all gone.....doesn't bother me any.
Their selection and prices were small and they treat customers like ****..living up to their name "DICK'S"

The local Dunham's is the only store left that carries long guns and all kinds of ammo. They always run weekly sales and I buy whenever they have 22, 9mm and 45 auto on sale. The 3 LGS in town want $15/box 50 for 9mm range ammo! I hope they don't go out here, I buy other things from them also, especially gifts for holidays for family.

I've honestly never shopped there anyway, nor did I even know that they ever stocked ammo.

Besides, on the bright side, these greedy corporations getting out of the guns and ammo business only means that the little local mom & pop businesses which are owned by true Second Amendment supporting citizens will thrive.

Honestly, I never really liked supporting such fickle, two-faced establishments anyway and always preferred to support local businesses.
In fact, every single major firearms purchase I have ever made was at a local gun shop.

Dunham's hasn't been in central Ohio for way over 20 years. When they were here they didn't sell any firearms because of a city permit and waiting period (since outlawed) About the only ammo that ever sold was slugs for deer season.

For many year all sporting goods and hardware stores had a few boxes of ammo. That was from doing business before 1968, the paperwork took the fun out of it. At one time Linden Hardware was the biggest Weatherby dealer in Ohio, but with GCA 1968 and urban decline, their parking lot is just weeds, crack vials, and long ago memories!

I guess all these Sporting Goods stores are going to make their bucks selling Basketball Socks and yuppie type outdoor clothes. Until we get a solid court ruling against suing firearms manufactures it will get worse.

Dunham's here is a joke. Have to have store manager unlock case and show a handgun. Have to have a permit to touch a handgun. And then if you decide to purchase, fill out the 4473, give them your permit & ID they STILL try to do a NICS call in. Sorry, Bubba, that's not the way its done in Iowa.

We have the best mom and pop sporting goods here.

The owners are awesome. I love going in there.
