I decided to duracoat my 637 frame flat black with contrasting barrel and cylinder. I also took the opportunity to slightly bob the hammer. What do you think?

I'm a fan. I've got 2 colors of Duracoat and some AR-15 parts around here that need it, but I've been a wuss since I've never used it before. Tell me, how is working with the stuff. Your gun looks great, any tips?

Steve-o,

I was hesitant, but it all came together very well and was easier than I thought it would be. Just follow the directions and you are good to go. I did not buy the tru-strip so I was kind of hesitant on using any other degreaser/cleaner to prep the gun. I ended up using mineral spirits and glass bead blasting the frame prior to spraying then just mixed duracoat 12 to 1 and sprayed a few test patterns and went to work. The biggest thing is light coats and wait a couple of min. between coats. I think it is an easy project for the do it yourselfer.

Thats looks very nice and differant too!

I ordered some Duracoat last night. Going to re-finnish the slide on my Sig P6.

I like it.

I have one & it is taking a beating in my ankle-holster while running my tractor.

It is not hurt, but the factory finish is not liking it.

Is there a reason why you did not do the yolk black?

I think I would do it all but the barrel & cylinder myself, unless there is an adhearance issue?

I am probably going to do the yolk and extractor with the next batch. I believe it will adhere fine with minimal coverage in the high tolerance areas.
