Well the wait is finally over for me an my 33-year adventure trying to find a in the Box with all the paperwork an Target , Blued 8-3/8 DX CLASSIC . Stumbled into it at the Yuma Arizona gun show

That is cool for sure! I always thought the DX guns were tops. I have a 6 1/2 in the box never shot and a 629DX that shoots like a laser.

I have a 29-5 Magna Classic with the wood box and other doo dads. My understanding is that it's similar to a DX Classic, but mine has a 7 1/2" barrel.

The 629-5 Cassic DX with a 6.5" barrel came from a Shot Show that was held many years ago. The local dealer who bought it from the S&W booth traded it to me for a well used Browning Citori 20 gauge O/U. It came with its original blue plastic box, Hogue grips and all of the front sight inserts. The test target was missing as were the extra set of wooden, slab sided grips. It shoots like a laser!
