Anyone know why the "Commander" sized E-Series and apparently "phantoms" in the Market ... nobody seems to have them and even the S&W Store in Springfield, mass. does not have them ?
Is it because they are that good that they are that popular, or, is there some negative that is keeping them off the market.
They sure look good and everything I read about them here is positive but I cannot find one anywhere.
Ken ... in Connecticut (a short drive from S&W)

I talked with S&W customer service last week about the availability of a Pro Series pistol I've had on backorder since last September.

They told me the Maine plant had been very busy working on 2 large law enforcement orders. Those orders were nearing completion and some of the pistols that have been given little to no production time would start getting attention.

I have only seen 1 in any store. No longer there. The all dark version. $1129 tag.

I was fortunate enough to get mine this week and just got back from the range today. I have a 5" S&W 1911 and love it so I had high expectations from the new bobtail. I was not disappointed! Only 50 rounds fired so a little early but functioned perfectly with the consistency and accuracy of my 5".:D Tad bit more recoil than the 5" but that was expected.

I had also been on several waiting lists but was saved by my Dad's dealer in South Dakota. He came up with it within a month of my request...don't know why or how...don't care.:p
Just lucky I guess.

Good for you .... you are lucky. No hope here in CT and I could ride a bike from home to the S&W Headquarters.

Who To Contact at S&W

Anyone know who I may be able to contact at S&W to ask for help in finding one ?

Call or email customer service at S&W.(See website). They will give you the best information they have regarding the pistol you are interested in. Be prepared to wait if you call later in the day.
