Does the make, model and serial number get entered electronically to the Feds, unlike the paper version which is kept by the FFL, up to and when he gives up his license or goes out of business?
Seems like a easy way for a database to be set up, if it hasn't already.

The answer is no. Your FFL may use the e4473 to auto populate their electronic version of the bound book, if they have an digital database bound book; but, that is as far as the e4473 goes. They will also print the 4473, a nice legible 4473, which they will keep for 20 years or until they cease business.

Perhaps Lee can answer this question about 4473's. Is there a law against giving the purchaser a copy for HIS records??? I asked for a copy one time and they looked at me in horror and said no way..
