EAA GIRSAN MC14T .380

My only experience was in a gun shop. I'm a fan of the Beretta originals, as the tip up feature is great for those with hand strength issues. The Girsan I handled seemed well fit and well finished. Turkey is putting out a lot of well made guns these days.

Two comments to consider:

The Girsan is a double stacked 380. That makes the grip frame a bit thick. Not a problem, but it's just "large." Might want to try one on for size. The single stack Beretta is much thinner, albeit $$$ and less ammo on board. Depends on your hand size and ultimate application.

Both makers, with the tip up feature, do not have your typical extractor design. As such, if you have a dud, racking the slide to pop out a round is not always reliable. If you tip up the barrel, you still must pluck out the dud round. Again, not a real issue if you are aware of this and practice the manual of arms. (And don't use crappy ammo. :). )

Hope someone else can weigh in with some shooting experience. I've been interested in them myself.

I really enjoy mine and so far, after about 300 rounds down range, I've had no issues. I shoot standard FMJ so, have yet to try any hollow points. It's not a carry gun, but more of a range gun and for introducing potential shooters to the sport. I wouldn't hesitate to carry it at this point though if I had to. I do need to find a holster for it though and really haven't looked that hard.
