Early 8 3/8-inch 44 Magnum, Engraved by Alvin White

This 44 Magnum is one of the first made with this barrel length. It was shipped in December 1958 "in the white" to Alvin White for engraving and inlay with gold and silver. Mr. White also carved and inlaid the stocks with ivory animals. Click on the photos for a much closer look at the details.

I love long tube revolvers and I love Mr. White's work. That there is a perfect combo of both.:cool: There are only two things that would make it better: 1) if it was a 357 Magnum and 2) if it were sitting in my safe. :)

Can't imagine owning that for a few years. Must feel really great sharing such a work of art. Thank you for doing so. Don't have to wonder if the grips are numbered to that one.
