Semper Fi ! I am new to your forum but have been a fan of S&W for a very long time. I have a model 60.I dearly love. Iwant to buy a 1967-68 model 49 (Nickle). Iwould love to see some of your model 49,s in Nickle from the VIETNAM ERA 1965-75 . Here is a picture of my Model 60 with some GEAR from the NAM 1970-71.My model 60 was made in 1984.

I too want to thank you for your service.

I recognize the tigers, the MAC-V Command and Control North shield, of course the Model 60, but what is the other pin?

Oh BTW, I dont have a 49 but heres a pic of a parkerized pre-40 on a bar stool top I made from some wore out tigers:D

I love your parked pre-40 ; Iwould be willing to bet it saw time in coutry. the other pin is the lower half of the CCN , Tiger with two crossed rifles. The braclets are from the tail of an elephant made in the central highlands by the Montagnards. I have been a collector of Nam militaria for about 20 years. I wanted nothing to do with it for the first 10 years after I got out but as I got older I wanted the younger generation to never forget the Nam and what went on during our time. I will never forget ! SEMPER FI ALLEN

Welcome to the forum -
Not exactly the era you speak of, but the top gun in the photo is a nickel model 49 from 1962. The bottom gun is it's brother the model 38.
