What am I missing? Looks like it has the factory letter as well. $1080 is a $900 bid at auction. It is early, has the concentric rings and the concave stocks. Exactly what I am looking for.

What am I missing? Many similar ones, albeit in slightly better condition, seem to bring close to double this.

No, I didn't bid. I thought it would bring considerably more.

Seems like it should have brought more. Were I looking for one I would have been willing to pay considerably more; nice original early gun, holster, and letter. Looks to me as though someone got a great deal. Perhaps, since RIA is also in business today the audience is split a bit between the two?

I'm sure the 20% buyers premium and other fees drug it down a bit.

Someone got a helluva deal, I hope it's one of our forum members who scored this package. Did the listing only have one photo?

I didn't place a bid as so many of these recently have been going for at least twice what this one did…so I didn't even try.

I've seen a number of guns go for less than I expected on the auction sites this weekend, unfortunately none of them went to me. . . .yet. On the other hand there was the supposedly Pat Garrett owned Colt 1877 that went for $450,000 at the RIA auction yesterday; $260,000 over the high estimate. Perhaps that was a deal though as one of his badges went for $200,000 no gun included (and buyer's premiums and taxes to be added to both).

Maybe there really is the beginning of a recession? Folks not wanting to spend a lot for the lower end stuff? At the high end, those folks are recession proof and prices can continue to escalate, even during a recession.
